Sam Poh Tong

These picturesque structures nestled within the high limestone caves and cavities located near Gunung Rapat are a sight to behold.

They are impressive works of art, with statues of Buddha in various forms among natural stalactities androck formations.

One can savour vegetarian food served here at the temples in peaceful surroundings amidst lotus ponds

 
Sam Poh Tong Temple  
 Sam Poh Tong, discovered in 1912, is aChinese Buddhist Temple within a natural limestone hill.

Developed by the Buddhist community and now has become an international tourist spot attracting visitors from all over the world.

Among the main attractions there are a beautifully decorated pavillion in front of the temple and a landscaped garden with a fish pool, which was awarded " The Best Landscaped garden" in Malaysia 1993.

 		  
 
Other than that, statues of Buddha and other deities are placed inside for respective devotees to offer prayers. A small pathway inside the cave leads to atortoise pond where feeding is allowed if you purchase some "Kangkong" vegetables at the entrance.

Gua Tempurung   'Dark Secrets' awaits at Gua Tempurung   Gua Tempurung, the name itself conjures up  images of   mystery  and intrigue that promises  visitors  a look into its deep dark secrets.  Like Aladdin's cave, Gua Tempurung has its own treasure trove of brilliant fishes living free in  the river  that flows at the base of the hills, rare ferns, and birds, which normally nest in caves and cliff  surfaces  also abound.  The subterranean  stream  that meanders under the limestone hills is a special attraction in itself.  When rain comes,  the stream  turns into a churning river of froth that  rewards  visitors with a taste of Indiana Jones-style  adventure trekking .   The cave  follows a direct course through a mountain range called Gunung Gajah-Tempurung, which is south of Ipoh towards Gopeng and Kampar.        Convenient walkways and platforms give you a close-up view of the breathtaking beauty of gigantic stalactites, stalagmites, rock formations
